Who We Are
History
ETS Schaefer has been providing refractory replacement services since 1934, and has specialized in ceramic fiber substitution of hard refractories since the late 1970’s. ETS Schaefer was the pioneer in developing the first monolithic ceramic fiber lining system and received its first patent in 1983 for what the industry has come to know as the Monster Module™, a large format monolithic ceramic fiber lining system. Since then, ETS Schaefer has continued to improve on our original design, and have received additional patents for our lining systems. We continue to manufacture the Monster Module™, Perm+A+Lining® and MonsterLoc Lining Systems.
In 1997, Engineered Thermal Systems acquired the assets of Schaefer Brothers Incorporated to form the newly named company ETS Schaefer. The businesses were consolidated into a newly constructed, 72,000 square foot facility in 1999, located in Macedonia in northeastern Ohio. Industrial Fire Brick of Detroit’s, Heat Resistant Fire Protection business was acquired in 2013 and was moved into the Macedonia facility. Industrial Fire Brick brought custom die cutting and custom sewing to the fold.
ETS Schaefer continues to seek innovative engineered heat containment solutions to our customers’ issues. With over 400 years of combined experience, ETS Schaefer utilizes its vast knowledge and history to provide our customers with resolutions to everyday problems.
